Since 2012 Cintsa Thatching has had a working relationship with Side By Side Safari Lodge - a new Danish owned hunting lodge in Kliplaat, outside Somerset East in the Eastern Cape. 2012 saw the building and thatching of the private family residence on the farm, followed by the building and thatching of the Lodge accomodation and communal areas. This is an ongoing project.
The private residence utilizes a trade-mark of Cintsa Thatching's work where shapely tree trunks are used as supports for the thatched roof.
The thatched lodge buildings included several accommodation units whose roofs were built in absolutely stunning designs and really made use of the ability of thatch to create curves and contours in the roof design.
The communal area by the pool was also a circular design with a steep pitch - quite a dramatic result when thatched.
The project included a lot of fine finishes and details which really pushed to quality of workmanship to the highest possible degree and the result are absolutely stunning thatched roofs.
To date the work completed at Side By Side Safari Lodge is approximately R 600 000.00.
